Experienced Sample Stand Operator

Toowoomba & Jondaryan

Join a global market leading supply chain business with a proud history of over 70 years. We are currently seeking an experienced Sample Stand Operator based between our Toowoomba and Jondaryan sites.


Reporting to the Site Supervisor, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Enforce Grain Harvest Management Scheme as required and send monthly reports to Department of Transport for overloaded vehicles
  • Generate weekly tickets and invoices as well as monthly statements
  • Coordinate daily bookings in spreadsheet for loads into site and liaising with clients and growers as first point of call
  • Maintain up to date Purchase and Sales Contract information
  • Liaise with truck drivers, handle enquires and follow up where required


The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Familiarity with sampling analysis procedures
  • Experience with grain sampling and associated technology
  • Experience in the MS Office suite
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Experience in the grain industry is highly advantageous

Moree Site 2IC - Site Operations

Moree

Join a global market leading supply chain business with a proud history of over 70 years. We are currently seeking an experienced 2IC to oversee the day to day site operations of our storage and handling site based in Moree.


Reporting to our Site Manager, your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of grain receival, storage, grain husbandry and out-loading of all commodities stored within CHS Broadbent's facility, assist with the promotion of the site with growers and clients, rostering for all casual employees, both in and out of peak periods, maintaining an awareness of local issues in order to develop relationships with customers and clients. You will also be required to assist with staff training where appropriate as well as fumigation, pest control and grain sampling.


The Candidate


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum of two years' experience in a supervisory role and experience working with bunkers
  • Current drivers licence
  • FEL and Forklift tickets
  • Demonstrated management experience;
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving abilities;
  • A strong focus and understanding of OH&S
  • Experience in building strong relationships and gaining cooperation; and
  • Flexibility is paramount as this position requires additional hours during peak periods.

Tyre Fitter/ Yardperson

Toowoomba

With a growing workshop and business, we are on the lookout for a full time Tyre Fitter/ Yardperson to work with our maintenance team based in our fast-paced Toowoomba Workshop. We are looking for a hardworking, safety conscious and reliable person with experience to fit and service tyres on our fleet of vehicles as well as washing and maintaining our exceptional fleet of trucks.


Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Fitting, balancing, repairing and servicing of new and used tyres for trucks and cars
  • Fleet management/checks 
  • Break down service
  • Identifying and reporting faults in vehicle stability and tyre wear on company vehicles 
  • Wheel polishing and detailing 
  • Washing trucks 
  • General yard maintenance


The successful candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated experience working as a tyre fitter 
  • Qualifications in tyre fitting desirable but not essential 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment while also confident when unsupervised
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Driver’s licence 
  • Desirably holds MR/HR licence and forklift licence (not essential)
  • Knowledge and compliance of work health and safety practices 
  • Can do attitude and show respect to the company name, values and vehicles

Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic

Ballarat

CHS Broadbent are seeking a qualified diesel mechanic to fill a full-time position, and work across our modern fleet of Kenworth and Mack trucks, as well as earthmoving and agricultural machinery.

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that all vehicles, trailers, plant and equipment are serviced and maintained within required timeframes 
  • Provide leadership and guidance to apprentices with respect to all aspects of the workshop and look for opportunities to provide further on the job training
  • Diagnostic and preventative maintenance
  • Attend to breakdowns (where required)
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, including workplace health and safety
  • Ensure the maintenance records for fleet are accurate and up-to date

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs and uses
  • Anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (third or fourth year apprentice applications are also welcomed)

OHS Coordinator

As we embark on our next growth phase, we are seeking an OHS Coordinator based in either Ballarat or Geelong. to join our team. 


As an OHS Coordinator you will be responsible for working with key stakeholders, including our Northern OHS Coordinator to implement and drive safety initiatives, training, policies and procedures across the business. You will assist in the review, development and implementation of health and safety policies and processes to ensure a safe workplace across our dynamic and fast paced business. 

 

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines 
  • Prepare and enforce policies to continue to support our health and safety culture 
  • Be actively involved in the orientation and induction of new Southern staff
  • Evaluate practices and procedures to assess risk and adherence to the law 
  • Facilitate VOC and relevant safety training across the business 
  • Work with Northern OHS Coordinator to ensure all resource material for all occupation health and safety issues and topics are up to date 
  • Conduct regular safety audits, identify potential hazards and recommend preventative measures 
  • Communicate effectively and clearly and facilitate communication with all employees, management and external stakeholders on safety issues 


Qualifications & experience

  • Relevant qualifications in Health & Safety preferred
  • Minimum 5 years experience, ideally in a agriculture or transport based business 
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing health & safety programs 
  • Ability and experience in staying informed about up to date legislation changes and compliance
  • Well-developed skills in managing time, setting priorities, planning
  • Well-developed communication and problem-solving skills to produce cooperative outcomes within a team environment. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
